The Story of the FlexTable®

The first FlexTable® was created by The Center for Discovery's Assistive Technology Department to ensure that everyone has a place at the table.

 

The Problem: Most of the individuals in The Center's classrooms and residences presented with drastically different seating and positioning needs - preventing many from gathering with friends and family around a single table for work, play and meals.

The Solution: The FlexTable® - a dynamic table that allows each individual to customize their table height and tilt to meet their needs, so everyone can come together at one table.

 

Since 2001, The Center has been promoting universal design and accessibility through the manufacturing and sale of the FlexTable®.

 

Over the years the original design has been refined in an effort to increase performance in different environments and improve our ability to get the FlexTable® to those who need it most.

 

We are happy to now offer a new versatile design that allows these tables to be quickly joined in endless configurations and easily shipped across the country.
